Transport for up to eight people is included.

What to bring

Please bring a jacket, warm jumper/fleece, woolly hat and gloves, salapets/winter trousers, good winter walking boots, and gaiters to keep the snow out of your shoes (if you have them; often however, salapets have built-in gaiters). Bring a backpack with 1-2 litres of water and a packed lunch for the full day outings. I will supply extra treats to children and adults alike!

The prices include rental of snow shoes, poles, avalanche transceiver, avalanche probe, and snow shovel as applicable for each outing.

Times

For your guidance, below are the pick-up and drop-off times of a typical trip. These can of course be adjusted to suit your specific needs!

Full day	Pickup at your chalet at 9 am, return by 5 pm
Morning	Pickup at your chalet at 9 am, return by 12.30 pm
Afternoon	Pickup at your chalet at 1.30 pm, return by 5 pm

Speciality courses

Igloo building is very popular with children and adults alike! Together, we work as a team to build a fantastic house completely made out of snow! Within an hour or two, it is perfectly possible to construct an igloo that will fit five people. Once finished, we have a well-deserved hot drink inside!

For adults, winter survival skills may or may not involve building an igloo. We discuss how to stay out of trouble in the mountains in winter and how to get out of trouble if the worst comes to worst! We'll explore which plants are edible and how to obtain water.

During the avalanche skills course we discuss the risk of avalanches, how to avoid them and how to dechipher the avalanche reports and other information given by the authorities on the risk of avalanches. We also practise using avalanche trancievers to find victims buried under the snow.

The winter navigation course is perfect if you'd like to learn how to safely navigate in the mountains in winter.
