An evening out on the mountain!

Come for an evening out on the mountain with me and with Ludo in the Yurt!

We meet in the evening and drive up the mountain towards Col de Joux Plane. We then enjoy a short and gentle walk (1.5-2hrs) under the starlit sky using real torches to pick our way through the forest - but will also extinguish the torches at one point in order to fully appreciate our surroundings. On a clear night, we'll be able to admire the stars, but also to make out the silhouettes of the Mont Blanc massif. Once we reach the Yurt, we will have deserved a good meal!

The Yurt is a traditional Mongolian tent, built out of larch wood and covered with yak wool. It is very comfortable and warm, thanks to a wood stove in the middle and the unique insulating properties of the yak wool cladding.

In the Yurt, we enjoy a traditional Savoyarde meal - see menu here. Please specify at booking time what you would like to eat! After the meal, I will drop you back off in Samoëns or at your place of residence.

Price

The price for the night time torchlit walk and the meal, including drinks, is 40€. It is also possible to enjoy the meal only - in that case, please contact Ludo directly.

Times

I will pick you up at your chalet at 18:00 and you will be back in Samoëns by 22:30. It is possible to modify these times depending on your individual preference.

What to bring

Please bring a jacket, warm jumper/fleece, woolly hat and gloves, salapets/winter trousers, good winter walking boots, and gaiters to keep the snow out of your shoes (if you have them; often however, salapets have built-in gaiters). A head-torch is handy if you have one. Bring a backpack with 0,5 litres of water and some space for the clothes you shed on the way up. There will be a special treat/aperitif on the summit!

The price includes the meal as well as rental of snow shoes and poles.
