AlpTracks - Snow shoeing in Samoëns, Grand Massif, France
Come snow shoeing with us and discover the best of what Samoëns, the Haut Giffre valley and the Grand Massif have to offer in wintertime by going completely off piste with us! We’ll leave the hustle and bustle of the ski stations well behind, walking into untracked territory, looking for animal tracks and admiring frozen waterfalls.
Snow Shoeing is an alternative and complementary activity to skiing and snowboarding and offers a wilder experience that is both closer to nature and more environmentally friendly. It can be described as the winter version of hiking or trekking and can be anything from a relaxing stroll to a challenging summit assault.
We use snow shoes to avoid sinking through the powder as well as poles for balance. We have several different activities available in order to suit everybody’s ability and taste for adventure. In the table below, click on the links for more information on a specific activity.

The prices given for meals are indicative and depends on your choice of food.
Pick-up and drop-off
We are more than happy to come and pick you up and drop you off at the place where you are staying. Please note that the timings are approximate and can be adjusted to your preferences.
Children
Children under 12 get a 5 € discount!
What to bring
Please bring a jacket, warm jumper/fleece, woolly hat and gloves, salopettes/winter trousers, good winter walking boots, and gaiters to keep the snow out of your shoes (if you have them; often however, saloppets have built-in gaiters). Don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring plenty of water and plenty of sweets and energy for the kids. And we'll also supply extra treats to children and adults alike!
Minimum Group Size
For half-day and night snowshoe walks, the minimum group size is 2 - otherwise, the price for a private guide is 50 € for one person. For other activities, the minimum group size is 4. The price for a private guide is 120 € (1-3 people) for a full day (150 € for the Full Day Summit Adventure).
